James A. “Jim” DiCarlo, 69, of Emlenton, Allegheny Township, Butler County, passed away peacefully, Wednesday morning, November 26, 2025, at UPMC Passavant, McCandless. 

James was born in Pittsburgh on June 24, 1956. He was the son of the late John and Helen Ferry DiCarlo.

He attended Gladstone High School in Hazelwood and earned his Emergency Medical Technician certification from Butler County Community College. Jim was employed as an EMT for Butler Ambulance Service for many years. He was a proud first responder and, in his early years, had been a member of the Emlenton and Eau Claire Fire Departments.

Jim was an avid hunter. He enjoyed landscaping, riding his Harley, and working on cars. Jim looked forward to spending time with his granddaughters, to whom he was affectionately “Pappy”.

Jim is survived by his wife, Kelly R. Ivey DiCarlo, whom he married in Las Vegas, Nevada March 1, 1981. Also surviving are two daughters, Amanda Porter and her husband, James of Beaver Falls; and Melissa Morrison, and her husband David of Parker; his granddaughters, Haley DiCarlo and Keira, and Cadence Morrison; a brother, Albert DiCarlo of Culloden, West Virginia, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.

Friends will be received at Hile Funeral Home Inc., 1204 Kerr Ave, Emlenton, from 1-4 p.m. Sunday, December 7th. 2025. (This visitation date is correct, it could not be changed n the print version.)
