KC Backpack Food Program in Need of Community Support

ree

KC Communities That Care is asking for the community to assist in strengthening and sustaining the backpack food program for Karns City Area School students. This program supplies students with a bag of non-perishable breakfast, lunch, and dinner items for the weekend. Students are sent home with additional food items for longer weekends and holiday breaks. With your donation, we can help supply weekend food to approximately 137 K-12 students currently enrolled in the program. Last school year, we saw an 11% increase in students, and costs have risen to roughly $4.12 per student weekly. KC Communities That Care is a non-profit 501(c)(3) that manages this program through a small, budgeted line item and with gracious community donations. With your help, we can continue to provide this essential program to our KC students.

Please call 724-496-7225 for more information on how you can help. Monetary donations can be sent to 2167 State Route 268 Chicora, PA 16025.
