Kendrick Kinney Earns First Place

Kendrick Kinney finished in first place at the PA State Game/60 Championship - West under 600 division. The event took place on Saturday September 13, 2025 at the University of Pittsburgh, (PITT). There were 21 participants in the event, and included players from Pennsylvania and Ohio.

Kendrick is a sell-taught player and has been playing for about one and a half years. He is twelve years old and started competing six months ago. He is the son of Dean and Kara Kinney of Parker, Pa.
The PSCF is the official state affiliate to the United States Chess Federation (USCF).
It sponsors a variety of state championships. The State Championship alternates between eastern, central, and western sites. The State Scholastic and Quick Chess Championships are traditionally held in March.
The PSCF is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit corporation, and donations are tax-deductible. The PSCF is committed to helping scholastic chess as much as possible. The PSCF will also help tournament directors advance in certification by offering volunteers chances to be assistant directors as often as possible.
