Kenneth A. Wambaugh

Kenneth A. Wambaugh, 66, of Emlenton, passed away following a brief illness on Monday, October 19, 2026, at his home while in the company of his son, Ryan.
Kenneth was born in Stewartstown, Pennsylvania, on June 30, 1960, the son of the late Kenneth and Mildred (Baird) Wambaugh.
He graduated from York County Vo-Tech in 1978. He spent most of his life as a welder, working with his hands to make pieces of steel work that would end up all over the world, ranging from simple hand railing that ended up in the Pennsylvania State Capitol Building to giant machinery that would end up overseas.
Ken had a strong love for music his entire life. He would play all sorts of instruments growing up, but fell in love with the saxophone most, and would play his entire life. He would spend time in his retirement DJ’ing online, playing classic rock, and having a rocking time. He also enjoyed baseball, passing the love of the game to his son, who also became a baseball junkie.
He is survived by his son, Ryan Wambaugh of Emlenton, whom Ken would tell anyone that would listen how proud he was of him. Also surviving is a sister, Sue Keeney of Gainesville, FL.
n addition to his parents, Ken was preceded in death by his wife, Beth A. Bollinger Wambaugh, to whom he was married for 20 years until her passing in 2014.
Since Ken was such a free spirit who would be the first to tell you that he wasn’t normal, there will be no traditional funeral. Instead, a bonfire and cookout celebrating his life will take place in June 2027.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Hile Funeral Home Inc., Emlenton. Condolences may be sent by visiting www.hilefh.com.
