It is estimated that there are nearly 14,000 Pennsylvania children currently in foster care, and nearly 2,000 are awaiting adoption. There are many non-profits around the state dedicated to this social issue, but Keystone Family Alliance is one of the fastest growing organizations in the state that helps orphans and vulnerable children. Our key success has been in helping bridge the gap between the desperate need in the child welfare system and Pennsylvania churches.
On November 9th, Keystone Family Alliance will host events for Stand Sunday, an international movement to bring awareness and action towards helping orphans and vulnerable children, in 30 counties around Pennsylvania. The events will share details on the current state of Pennsylvania’s foster children and what people can do to help. The Venango County Coordinator, Karen Farkas, will be showing a FREE MOVIE called “The Sound of Hope” at the Barrow-Civic Theatre located at 1223 Liberty St. in Franklin, PA on November 9, 2025, at 6:00 PM.
STAND UP for the 93 children in Venango County’s foster care system–just by watching this powerful, critically-acclaimed film! (Note: It is PG-13 and is 2 hours, 7 minutes long.) Inspired by true events, “Sound of Hope” follows Donna and Reverend Martin as they lead their rural church to embrace foster children no one else would take. By adopting 77 children, this East Texas community shows that determined love can change the lives of America’s most vulnerable. Several adoption and foster care agencies will be represented at this event to share information before, during and after the movie. You’re welcome to visit our website to find out more about Keystone Family Alliance: www.keyfam.org.
The mission of Keystone Family Alliance is to educate, motivate, and equip every Christian in the state of Pennsylvania on the needs of orphans and vulnerable children, both locally and globally. Keystone Family Alliance is the fictitious name (DBA) of Pennsylvania Orphan Care Alliance, a federal 501(c)3 non-profit registered in Pennsylvania. By helping bridge the gap between the desperate need in the child welfare system and Pennsylvania churches, we believe we can provide more than enough for children before, during, and after foster care.
