An open house was held on Thursday afternoon, August 18, 2022 at the KRD Counseling and Wellness Center. The center is located in Clarion at 162 S. 2nd Avenue, Suite D at the Applewood Center. The counseling center recently opened on July 1, 2022, by three qualified and experienced individuals; Kari Overheim, Rebecca Coull and Derek Oberlander.
The trio will operate as a Limited Liability Company with Overheim as the President, Coull is the Vice President and Oberlander is the Secretary/Treasurer.

Overheim is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor and a Licensed Professional Counselor. She has over 18 years of experience in the mental health field. She grew up in Clarion County and works with adolescents, teens, and adults.
Coull is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who works with individuals and families from a systems view. She grew up in the Clarion area and is committed to aiding others to engage in their best possible journey.
Oberlander is a Licensed Professional Counselor who works with adolescents, teens, adults, and couples on a variety of issues that they may be facing. He is a Clarion County native and is also a Veteran and served in the United States Marine Corps.
Overheim commented that, “At KRD Counseling and Wellness center, we strive to provide quality counseling services tailored to each clients specific needs. Each therapist has their own private counseling office which promotes serenity and peace. We also have a children’s therapy room. We take clients age 5 and up.”

The hours at the center vary based on client's needs, including evenings and weekends. KRD Counseling and Wellness Center currently accepts Medicaid, Highmark, Aetna, UMR, Optum, United Behavioral Health, and UPMC insurance plans, as well as self pay.
