Loretta D. Posey, 79, of Chicora, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at UPMC Shadyside following a courageous two-year battle with cancer.
Born August 30, 1946, in Roseville, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Grace (Silverio) DeBacco.
On June 1, 1968, Loretta married the love of her life, Francis Posey. Together they shared 58 wonderful years of marriage, building a home filled with love, laughter, music, and cherished memories while raising their family.
Loretta was a 1964 graduate of East Brady High School and began her career with Nationwide in Butler. She later worked for American Hardware/ServiStar and served as a library clerk for Sugarcreek and Chicora Elementary Schools, where she enjoyed being part of the school community.
She was a faithful member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in Bradys Bend, the St. Paddy’s Ladies Group, and the Bradys Bend SOI.
Loretta’s greatest joy in life was her family. She loved bringing everyone together around the table and was known for the care she put into cooking and baking for those she loved. Carrying on family traditions meant everything to her, and the holidays were especially dear to her heart. Her Christmas Eve gatherings became a treasured tradition, filled with delicious food, laughter, songs, and the warmth that only Loretta could create. To her family and friends, she will always be remembered as a wonderful cook, a devoted wife and mother, and a proud and loving “MeeMe.”
Loretta is survived by her devoted husband, Francis Posey of Chicora; one son, William (Tricia) Posey of Butler; and one daughter, Gretchen (Kevin) Kamenski of Chicora.
She was the beloved “MeeMe” to four grandchildren, Claudia, Anthony, and Ava Kamenski, and Luke Posey, who brought her immense pride and joy.
She is also survived by one brother, Louis (Mary) DeBacco of Rimersburg; sisters-in-law Florence DeBacco, Jane DeBacco, Betty DeBacco, and Sandra Posey; and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by six brothers, two sisters, and three brothers-in-law.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Thursday, March 19, 2026, at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Bradys Bend, with Rev. Alan Grote officiating.
