Marilyn Chambers White, age 91 of Wilmington passed peacefully Sunday, April 5, 2026, at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born December 11, 1934, in Eau Claire, PA daughter of the late Wilford and Rosetta Chambers. She was also predeceased by her husband Darwin White.
She is survived by her children, Brenda Tango and husband Ralph of SC, Rodney White and wife Donna of RI, and Darlene Wilson and husband Kirk of Wilmington; five grandchildren; two step grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two sisters, Julia Grieff of PA and Dianna Leya of NC; and brother, James Chambers of MA.
Marilyn was known for her strong work ethic, dedication to her faith, and willingness to help others. She became a cornerstone in her church family, volunteering, visiting, and offering support to those in need. In her youth she enjoyed playing softball and sledding. She was a clothing buyer for Belk stores.
The family received friends at 10:00 am Friday, April 10, 2026, before the service. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, April 10, 2026, at Harrell’s Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by Pastor Arnold Griffen. Burial followed in Riverview Memorial Park Cemetery.
