Michael James Hassey, 51, Harrisville, of Irwin Township, passed away unexpectedly on October 18, 2026, in Florida. His life, though cut short, was filled with love, dedication, and countless cherished memories.

Michael was born on August 8, 1975, in Sharon, Pennsylvania, a devoted son to his mother, Tina M. Walter Dunkle of Emlenton, and a beloved father to his three children, James and Nathan Hassey of Wheatland, WY, and Ms. Jaiden Hassey of Grove City. He is also survived by his sister, Ms. Shannon Snyder of Emlenton; five brothers, Matthew Krear of Knox, Joseph Snyder of Corsica, Chad and Chris Hassey of South Carolina, and Cody Hassey of Florida.

He joins in eternal rest his father, James M. Hassey, stepfather Ronald Dunkle, paternal grandparents James and Marilyn Hassey, maternal grandparents Harvey and Betty Walter, as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Michael was an accomplished diesel mechanic, known for his expertise and dedication in his field. Over his 30-year career as a Diesel Technician at the TA Truckstop, his skills earned him numerous awards and achievements. His colleagues respected him deeply, and he made a lasting impact on all who had the pleasure of working with him.

Beyond his professional life, Michael was a man of many talents and interests. He found joy in the great outdoors, whether it was camping, fishing, hunting, or gardening. Above all, he cherished the moments spent with his family and friends. His laughter and warmth were a beacon to those around him, and he was especially fond of his little buddy Malaki, whose companionship he treasured deeply. Michael loved so easily and would give the shirt off his back for you. He often gifted strangers and helped those in need, while expecting nothing in return.

He will be dearly missed by his cat, “Meat Head.” Michael's legacy lives on in the hearts of his family and friends, and his memory will forever be a source of comfort and inspiration. He will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
