News From the Garden Club of Clarion County

The Garden Club of Clarion County held its first meeting of 2025, hosted by East Brady members Kay John, Shirley Loose and LuAnn Kilburn, on April 15 at the Sons of Italy in East Brady. President Lee Ann Ishman opened the meeting by welcoming everyone back after the winter break. Twenty-seven were present.
The committee reports are as follows: Scholarship: $1,000 scholarship was awarded to Hannah Swartfager of Keystone HS. She will be attending Slippery Rock in the fall with a major in Park and Resource Management.
Club members will be participating in the Marianne Estates Yearly Yard Sale on May 9-10.
Five schools participated in the Smokey Bear/Woodsy Owl Poster Contest. Results of the contest will be announced at school assemblies.
The Club will be volunteering to help plant thru the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy on May 20th at the intersection of Rt. 322 and 66.
Club members will be assisting staff at Camp Coffman in expanding their vegetable beds.
The next meeting will be the annual plant auction with Sligo hosting.
