Thanks to an area gun enthusiast, new this year at the Friends of NRA Banquet which will be held this Saturday, April 6th at Reminisce Banquet Hall in Emlenton will be a rare one of a kind nine gun educational display model which showcases the evolution of the American rifle.

With the start of the Volcanic Repeating Firearms Company founded in 1855 to the ingenuity of the fire-arms industry, many improvements were sought in the mid 1800’s from the musket prototype. The mid 1800’s were an iconic time in American history for the firearms industry. Visionaries such as Daniel B. Wesson, Horace Smith, Benjamin Tyler Henry, Lewis Jennings and Oliver Winchester were just on the verge fine tuning the firearms industry.

Come take a look at this nine piece collection that essentially revolutionized the gun industry today. The owner of this display will be on hand to give a little history of each piece and answer any questions you may have.

Also on display will be a collection of Colt and other pistols that were the catalysts that revolutionized the handgun industry.

The Clarion County Friends of NRA banquet doors will open at 4 PM. Anyone wanting individual tickets can call Brad at 724-332-9604. The event features many games of chance, wall of guns, silent auction, live auction and other raffles.
