A paint Your Own Wooden Quilt Block Class will be held at Scrubgrass Grange on Saturday, Nov. 19th, from 9 am to 4 pm. Each participant will paint a 2' x 2' quilt block on an outdoor sign board using outdoor paints which will withstand the elements. The painters will choose the quilt block pattern and colors of their choice. All materials will be provided so participants just have to call and make reservations. The cost will be an all-inclusive $60. To register for the class, call 724-290-3783.
Examples of the blocks can be viewed at the Scrubgrass Grange Hall, 5104 Emlenton-Clintonville Rd., Emlenton, PA 16373. Many of the blocks on the Scrubgrass Grange Hall have been there since 2009 with the inception of the Pennsylvania Grange Heritage Quilt Trail. Presently there are over 400 Quilt Blocks across Pennsylvania.
Today the Venango County Fairgrounds at 867 Mercer Rd., Franklin, PA 16323 has 50 Quilt Blocks on the grounds which are available for your viewing pleasure at any time.
