Parker Allegheny Canby Lodge No. 521 Helps Serve Easter Dinner to Local Veterans

Jeff Miller and Richard Vogan of the Parker Allegheny Canby Lodge No. 521 help server Easter Dinner.

Members from Parker Allegheny Canby Lodge No 521 put together an Easter Dinner for the veterans in the Mechling-Shakley Veterans Center on March 29, 2024. These folks all served their country and we should salute them. The Lodge put together a fantastic meal of Ham, Fish, scalloped potatoes, green beans, salad and homemade peach, cherry and blackberry pie. It was great to get an opportunity to help those that have fought and served for us.

The Allegheny Canby Lodge provided all of the food, prepped and cooked the meal as well as served the Veterans at the Mechling-Shakley Veterans Center.

The Mechling-Shakley Veterans Center is located in rural Armstrong County, approximately 40 miles north of Pittsburgh, and eight miles northwest of Kittanning on State Route 268. The primary mission of the Mechling-Shakley Veterans Center is to provide a community-based residential treatment facility for homeless veterans needing rehabilitation and support.

Mechling-Shakley Veterans Center residents are provided numerous supportive services: Counseling, Job Training, Life Skills Enhancement, Educational Opportunities, Housing Assistance, Appointment Transportation, Job Readiness Preparation, Substance Abuse Recovery, Spiritual Growth, Regular Church & Chapel Services.
