Patricia E. “Pat” Pearson Simm


Patricia E. “Pat” Pearson Simm, 92, of Chicora, Sugarcreek Twp., Armstrong Co., formerly of Parker, a retired executive director of the American Red Cross, passed away peacefully at her home while in the company of her family on Tuesday, October 10, 2023.

Patricia was born in Pittsburgh on August 26, 1931. She was the daughter of the late Edward and Helen Pearson.

Mrs. Simm had a long and distinguished career with the American Red Cross, both in Butler and in Palm Beach County, FL.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert T. Simm, who passed away on July 7, 2010. The couple was married at Holy Innocence Roman Catholic Church in Sheridan on April 7, 1951.

She had attended the former St. Mary Roman Catholic Church in Parker and later St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in the Village of Brady’s Bend.

She is survived by her son, Robert L. Simm, and his wife, Martha Randig Simm; a daughter of her heart, Michelle Cota (Tim Lowler); a grandson, Rob Simm (Saleen) Evankovich; three granddaughters, Amy, Kristen, and Kelly; six great-grandchildren, Landon, Talyn, Nivaeh, Kairi, Autumn and Grace, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and a special friends, Carolyn and Vic Rozic and Patty Cunningham and their families. Special thanks to Joanne Plannick and her family.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a number of siblings.

Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home of Chicora, 339 Chicora Fenelton Rd., Chicora, from 1-4 p.m. Saturday. A private blessing service will be held with the Rev. Arnel Tadeo, church pastor of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, officiating. The interment will be in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, Rochester.
