Pilot Engineering Program for Girls

Interested in Engineering? EDGE (Engagement and Development for Girls in Engineering) is an out of school curriculum that thoughtfully introduces middle school students to engineering through engaging in interactive engineering activities and fun exercises focused on social-emotional development, preparing them to participate in engineering pathways.

Kid’s Innovation Playground has an opportunity to pilot a new program, EDGE for girls. We are looking for 12 middle school girls – finished 6th grade-8th grade to spend evenings from 5 pm to 7 pm for 5 nights in a row in August at Kid’s Innovation Playground in Slippery Rock, PA. The dates for the program are August 7, 8, 9, 10, 11.

Curriculum goals include: Promote STEM education and careers; Increase understanding of middle school engineering topics and enhance relationships, voice and identity.

The girls will enjoy a free supper every evening, participate in fun engineering activities and receive a $10 Amazon gift card (must participate all 5 days).
