Terry Janosik will present the program “Boats to Build” at the Monday, June 16th meeting of the Redbank Valley Historical Society. Mr. Janosik has produced over 50 Forest County Outback Videos on YouTube and is a frequent speaker at, “Tuesday Talks”, at the Forest County Historical Society.

From 1880 – 1920 lumber rafting and the commercial barge industry were instrumental in transporting logs and products to Pittsburgh. Redbank Creek was one of the waterways used for this purpose. Slides of how the boats were constructed and pictures of local boat yards will be shown.
The program begins at 6:30 p.m. at the History Center, 301 Broad Street, New Bethlehem. Parking is available on Broad Street or in the municipal parking lot near the center. This is no admission charge for the program, however, donations to support the center are appreciated.
