The Rimersburg Lions Club has announced its upcoming Halloween Parade and the sponsorship of its annual Veteran’s Day American Red Cross Blood Drive.
The Halloween Parade is set for Tuesday, October 31, 2023, beginning at 5:30 p.m. Parade participants are asked to gather in Rimersburg at the Heeter Lumber Company parking lot by 5:15 p.m. to line up to participate in the parade which will transverse up Main Street in Rimersburg. The Union High School Marching Band will also be taking part in the event. All parade participants will receive a goodie-bag full of treats according to Lions Roger Crick and Mike Graham, coordinators of Lion’s parade activities.
“We welcome all children of the community, teens, and the young at heart to participate in this annual event enthusiastically sponsored by the Rimersburg Lions Club,” stated Crick.
Also on tap, the Rimersburg Lions Club is sponsoring its 2nd annual Veteran’s Day American Red Cross Blood Drive on Friday, November 10, 2023 from 11:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Rimersburg Community Building at 484 Main Street in Rimersburg.
“Rimersburg Lions are asking all area residents to do their patriotic duty by giving blood this Veteran’s Day. This is one way to honor the sacrifices American service members have made for our great nation,” Lion Greg Mortimer noted as leader of the endeavor.
“Anyone wishing to give blood can easily sign up by calling the American Red Cross at 1-800-733-2767 or by visiting www.RedCrossBlood.org on the web to easily schedule an appointment time,” Mortimer added.
Other community projects the Club sponsors include Route 68 Litter Pick-up, Union High School Senior Student of the Month Awards, 4th Grade Drug Poster Contest, Kindergarten Eye-Screening Program, providing downtown trash cans, local eye glass purchases for the disadvantaged, and contributions to local and District 14-N Lions Charity Projects.
The Rimersburg Lions Club meets the 2nd and 4th Mondays each month at the Korner Restaurant beginning at 6:00 p.m. for their semi-monthly dinner meeting.
