Sarah E. Parkes went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 21, 2023. Sarah was born at home on Eighth Avenue, Clarion, PA, January 9, 1935. She was the daughter of Verlie and Harold McNutt who are deceased.
She moved to Crafton, PA and graduated from Crafton High School in 1951. She married James H. Parkes on February 28, 1961.
Sarah was an excellent homemaker. She took pride in her home and family. She was an outstanding cook and made delicious family meals. She was a devoted Christian. Sarah enjoyed the old time hymns and would sing in the choir at church as well as the area nursing homes. She loved to watch her game shows and played Yahtzee with her husband, Jim.
Sarah was a loving and caring mother to: Cindy Smathers and her husband, Jeff, James M. Parkes and his wife Shelly, Timothy Parkes and his wife Carolyn and David Parkes and his wife Deborah; and her nine grandchildren, Kory Smathers, Tiff Sturgeon and her husband Spencer, Caleb Parkes, Rachael Parkes, Emilee Parkes, Keri Rapp and her husband Casey, Isaac Parkes, Deanna Parkes and Dalina Parkes. Sarah is also survived by her loving sister Janet Hearn and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Sarah was preceded in death by her siblings: Helen Aschman, Violet Duff, Maurice McNutt and William McNutt.
No service, visitation or memorial service will be held per the request of the deceased.
Arrangements are under the care of the Goble Funeral Home in Clarion.
