Steven P. “Steve” McGregor, 59, of Chicora, passed away peacefully at his home in the company of his family Monday morning, October 27, 2025.
Steven was born in Butler on February 13, 1966. He was the son of the late Lewis and Marybelle Moore McGregor.
Steve attended Butler Area High School and had earned his GED. He was employed as a heavy equipment operator for Amerikohl.
He was an avid hunter, most especially archery, and looked forward to hunting with his sons in West Virginia. He enjoyed playing the lottery, attending auctions and flea markets and was the proud owner of several hot rods. He looked forward to spending time with his kids and grandkids.
Surviving are two sons, Edward J. “Joe” McGregor and his wife, Kayla, of Kittanning and Coty A. McGregor and his fiancée, Erica Allen, of Fairview. He was affectionately “Pappy” to his grandchildren, who were the light of his life, Emersyn J. and Eliana S. McGregor and Riley Moore. Also surviving are two brothers, Lewis “Jim”McGregor and his wife, Judy, of Eldorado and Kenneth McGregor and his wife, Judy, of Chicora, his long time best buddy and good friend, Merritt Fennell of Karns City, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Edward McGregor and his wife, Karen, and a sister-in-law, Marsha McGregor.
Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home of Chicora, 339 Chicora Fenelton Rd., Chicora, from 3-6 Saturday. A memorial service will follow at 6 p.m. from the funeral home with the Rev. Paul DeBacco, pastor of Crisswell Bible Baptist Church, officiating.
