Sylvia E. Harvey, 82, of Chicora, went to be with the Lord, Saturday evening, April 4, 2026 in the comfort of her home, while in the company of her loving husband and family.
Sylvia was born in Tarentum, Allegheny County on June 3, 1943. She was the daughter of the late Rudolph and Bertha Lepish Misejka.
She was a 1961 graduate of Tarentum High School, and the Mason-Felix Beauty School. In her earlier years, Sylvia worked as a beautician.
Sylvia was a devoted and loving homemaker to her family. She was a talented seamstress and enjoyed sewing, and making baskets and hats. She looked forward to her daily visits with family and friends on the telephone, and taking relaxing drives in the car, especially to the ice cream stand. Mrs. Harvey was a longtime member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in the village of North Oakland, where she was a member of the Christian Mothers.

Sylvia is survived by her husband, Willard L. Harvey, whom she married in Natrona Heights on June 12, 1961. Also surviving are her children, Kimberly J. Harvey Rock and her husband, Randall, of Chicora, Mark W. Harvey and his wife, Kimberly of Pikeville, TN, and Robin L. Harvey Sybert and her husband Leonard “Lenny” of Chicora; she was affectionately “Grandma” to her many grandchildren, whom she adored; Tiffany Reese, Brittnee Rock (Greg Powers), Michael Rock (Jeannine), Randy Rock Jr., Jade Nesbitt (Louis), Dustin Harvey (Nicki), Troy Harvey (Della), Cody Harvey, Cassaundra Tack (Austin), Kierra Sybert (Dakota Stewart), Colton Sybert (Kyleen), Kaitlynne Sybert (Preston Johnston), Cameron Sybert, and Kaleb Sybert. She was affectionately “Mee-Maw” to her great-grandchildren, Skyleigh, Brayden, Alexa, Aidan, Autumn, Randy III, Arieanna, Xzavier, Maverick, Logan, Alexis, Landyn, Harlow, Nathan, Anthony, Natalee, Rhylee, Jordan, Maria, Kobe, Chloe, Easton, and Parker. Two sisters survive, Annette Stewart of the state of Indiana, and Janice Benson and her husband, Johnathan, Norfolk, VA; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Harvey was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Sue Harvey, who went to be with the Lord at age 10 on March 15, 1975; a great-grandson, Brantlee; a sister, Judy Ritgraf, and a brother, Richard “Rick” Misejka
Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home of Chicora, 339 Chicora-Fenelton Road, Chicora from 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2026. A service outside of mass will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at the funeral home with the Rev. Matt McClain, pastor of St. Clare Parish, officiating. The interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in the village of North Oakland.
