The Holidays Come Alive in Spectacular Brass & Wurlitzer Christmas Concerts

’Tis the Season for Song! And no need to travel to the cities for spectacular holiday entertainment and dazzling Christmas decorations as it’s Sparkle Season on the Allegheny! Ignite your Spirits with ARCA’s Holiday concerts as merry and bright as the thousands of twinkling lights in the decorations and towering Christmas tree in Storybook Foxburg village.

Hear the holidays come alive as you rediscover the timeless joy of the Sounds of Christmas with your family and loved ones in ARCA’s last two Holiday Shows of its 20th Anniversary Season, performed in the intimacy of Lincoln Hall by spectacular virtuosos as warm and personable as they are entertaining: Dave Wickerham at the McKissick Mighty Wurlitzer on Sunday, December 14 and the C Street Brass Christmas Show on Sunday, December 21 – both at 2 PM. These concerts will sell out - so buy and reserve early to make sure Santa can deliver.

Experience the Magic and Majesty of the Season with the rich, triumphant sounds of the ‘king of instruments’ as ARCA’s favorite Dave Wickerham returns with his Joyous Wurlitzer Christmas Celebration on the newly restored Wurlitzer in Lincoln Hall. Dave will be performing contemporary and popular Christmas tunes and sacred classics, as well as an audience carol sing-along in his ever popular, sold-out holiday concert. Fresh from a two-month Australian tour, Dave is brought back annually by popular demand.

Dave’s programs have something for everyone in his wide-ranging repertoire. His arrangements are always fresh, employing his improvisatorial ingenuity to create delightful surprises, sometimes with multiple combinations of genres in a single arrangement – as he did in his “Carol of the Bells” in a recent ARCA Christmas concert!

One of the world’s most celebrated theatre organists, Dave demonstrates the magnificent glory of the many ranks of the newly refurbished organ like no other – turning the Wurlitzer into a cathedral pipe organ, jazz ensemble, rag time band, bagpipes or steam locomotive. And Dave always gives the piano and percussion shelf a complete work-out, which is a special treat with the “toy counter” percussion shelf visible at the back of the hall.  No one can touch his outrageously genius improvisations based on audience requests given at concert intermissions - a tour de force.

Let the Beloved Songs of Christmas open your heart to the true meaning of Christmas – performed by one of the kindest, gentlest, most generous souls and a man of faith, evidenced by the glow you feel having experienced his inspired performance.

Tickets are Adults $25, Students $5 and the ARCA Member Discount $20. Buy online at alleghenyriverstone.org or call 724-659-3153 to reserve and pay with cash or check at the door.
