Students of Union High School’s National Honor Society will be front and center for the Monday, November 10, 2025 Rimersburg Lions Club’s Veterans Day Blood Drive to be held in the auxiliary gym of the high school, located at 354 Baker Street in Rimersburg, from noon to 5:00 p.m.
Individuals wishing to give blood at the drive, conducted by the American Red Cross, can easily make an appointment to give blood on November 10th by visiting www.redcrossblood.org or by calling the American Red Cross at 1-800-733 -2767.
National Honor Society students will be playing a prominent role in assisting the Lions Club with the blood drive throughout the afternoon by volunteering their time and also donating blood for the first time.
The students are encouraging the public to give blood as they aim to collect a $1000.00 college scholarship for a Union High School senior. The American Red Cross offers this college scholarship award to a high school senior in an educational institution holding a blood drive if they collect more than 50 successful blood donations per school year.
Last year, the group missed the $1000.00 scholarship award by just one donation so they’re redoubling their efforts to recruit blood donors this year.
The goal of the American Red Cross High School Scholarship Program is to give students the opportunity to help others through life-saving blood donations while also helping establish a scholarship fund to benefit engaged students as they move on to higher education.
