You Are Invited 4-H Livestock Auction

McKinley Weaver and Vivian Weaver have been busy working with their 4-H group American Made, on their market hogs!

A couple years McKinley participated in Bacon Buddies at the Venango County Fair where he got to show his friend Max’s pig. Bacon Buddies is a program developed for kids like him that have special needs. This year, McKinley decided he wanted to try it for himself. His pig’s name this year is Doc Hudson, off the Cars movie. He is a Berkshire/Hamshire cross.

This will be McKinley’s last year showing a pig because of his age, but, he is ready to be done.

McKinley has been busy feeding him a lot of good feed from the local feed store; Knox Country Farm Supply. McKinley would like to invite everyone to the livestock auction at the Venango County 4-H Fair which will be held on Friday, August 8th and bid on Doc. The sale starts at 6:00 PM.

As loud sounds bother McKinley, so if he is just not feeling the noise and stuff, his friend Gavin may be the one taking Doc into the arena for the sale. McKinley is hoping he can do it, but just in case, please listen for the announcer to say his name.

Vivian Weaver: This will be the third year for Vivian Weaver showing a market hog at the fair. Vivian’s pigs name is Squeaky Larry. He is a Berkshire Cross.

Squeaky Larry is way different than her pig last year. Squeaky Larry is pretty laid back and big. Vivian named him Squeaky Larry because he squeeked the whole way home from the farm she brought him from and because her Pap’s name is Larry. Vivian has been feeding him quality feed from the Knox Country Farm Supply, so you know his bacon will be hard to beat! He has not had any trouble growing.

If you would like to bid on Squeaky Larry, you can do so at the Venango County Fair on Friday, August 8, 2025. The Livestone Auction will begin at 6:00 PM.

Vivian is happy to show the pig to anyone interested prior to the sale.

The American Made 4-H group will have many pigs and cows up for auction. Come get some great farm raised products.
