2026 Venango County Dog License Sales

ree

Jeannie L. Ritchey, Venango County Treasurer, has announced the 2026 Venango County Dog Licenses will become available on December 01, 2025.

State law requires that all dogs three months or older, or upon transfer to a new owner, whichever comes first, be licensed on or before January 1 each year. The fees are as follows:

December 1, 2025 through December 31, 2026:

A Regular Annual license is $10.80 and a Regular Lifetime license is $52.80. Senior Citizen/Person with Disability Annual license is $8.80 and a Lifetime license is $36.80.

Buying a dog license is essential to the safety of our pets; if a dog is lost or stolen a license provides information that can help reunite them with their owner.

All dogs must be licensed. Failure to license a dog is a summary offense and could result in a maximum fine of $500.00 plus court costs for each unlicensed dog. The minimum fine is $100.00 plus court costs.

Notices will be mailed from Harrisburg Dept. of Agriculture Bureau of Dog Law at NO cost to the County as a reminder to purchase your dog license.

As always DOG LICENSES can be purchased at the County Treasurer’s Office, Oil City Agway, Humane Society and Jones Notary in Seneca.

Reminder for the 2026 year; there is the availability to purchase your dog license on-line using the Venango County web-site. There will be a minimum of $1.00 convenience fee charged by the provider of the service. For Annual licenses, you may also download an application from the County web-site and include a check or money order payable to: COUNTY TREASURER
