A-C Valley Hometown Hero Program

On our last fundraiser, we raffled off a 116” by 116” patriotic king-size quilt. The quilt was made by Dixie Gordon and Sally Byers. The winner was Rich Safranek.

Our banners have been up for at least 10 years. This year, we replaced 100-plus banners in Emlenton and 63 in Parker. All of Emlenton’s banners have been replaced, and Parker has 26 more to be replaced. We have gotten donations from a couple of grants, Parker VFW, and people giving donations. We hope to get more donations so we can replace the last ones in Parker.

We would love to get more volunteers involved. We always need help with hanging and taking down banners. Once all our banners have been replaced, it will be the family’s responsibility to pay for a new banner when they need to be replaced again, unless we get more funding. To replace an already existing banner is $85.00, and a new veteran banner is $135.00

Our next meeting is scheduled for October 21, 2026, at 6 PM. Location is Amazing Stitches on Main St. in Emlenton.

Thank you to everyone who made this possible for us to replace our Veterans' banners. They deserve this respect, and we want to thank our veterans for their service.
