Come one, Come all to the 2024 Bruin Community Day and Church in the Park Celebrations on Saturday and Sunday, August 24 and 25 at the Bruin Municipal Park. Activities will begin at 11:00 a.m. on both days.
On Saturday, there will be a car show at the Bruin Fire Hall at 11 a.m. with music provided by Barry Leighton of Bruin. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.
In the Park on Saturday, activities will kick off with a visit by the Butler County Sheriff’s Department’s Canine Unit. Other activities will include Duck Races, a basket raffle, food concessions, craft vendors and a lemonade stand to benefit the “Isaiah 117 Ministry.” Additional Kid’s activities will include volley ball, corn hole, frisbee golf, balloon animals, face painting and a bouncing pad. New additions for Kids this year will be a “pie in the face” game and evangelistic outreach by Steve Tini of Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF). Donated proceeds from the “pie in the face” game will benefit local veterans. Stacie Williams of Bruin will present an historical talk on Ben Hogan, a former resident of the Bruin-Parker area entitled: “From Wickedest Man to Redemption.”
On Sunday, activities in the Park will begin with “Church in the Park” at 11 a.m. Barry and Debbie Wiles will participate with testimony in word and song. A pot-luck luncheon will follow the service. Everyone in attendance is invited to bring their favorite entre’ or dessert. After lunch, there will be a duck race and a children’s outreach service by Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF). A square dance and line dance demonstration will also take place. The day’s activities will conclude with a concert by Colin Gaiser and Uptown Classic Hits, at 4:00. Food will be available for purchase for those attending the concert.
If you are a craft vender and would like to participate in the 2024 Community Day events, please contact Linda Kelly at 724-753-2296. In lieu of a reservation fee, the Planning Committee is requesting all venders to donate an item(s) for the basket raffle on Saturday, August 24.
