Building Robots in our Community – Open House October 29

The 4-H Electrotechs are hosting an open house for anyone Sunday, October 29, 2023, from 3 to 5 PM at the Crawford Center, 511 Hill Street, Room 305 Emlenton, Pa. 16373.

This club is open to youth 5th – 12th grade.  They learn to design and fabricate robots to compete in a FIRST Robotics Challenge. Designing and building a robot includes learning about electrical wiring, machine fabrication, mechanical design and coding to make the robot move. We will teach you the skills to understand the process if you are interested in learning.   The group also has roles for learning to create marketing materials, promotional posts on social media, website design, t-shirt design and much more.

The group is funded by community support, club fundraising and grants. This allows all who join to participate in the experience. Youth in the club learn about problem-solving, communication, community service, budgeting and much more.

Our alumni are employed in tradesman careers, and military positions, and have used the experience for collegiate success in various stem, business, and arts degrees that have led to successful career placement.

To learn more about the 4-H Electrotechs please join us at the open house, we want to share what we do with our community, sponsors, and of course, new members and volunteers.  If you have further questions, please contact Patty Anderson, pag2@psu.edu or 814-223-9028.
