Following a hard-fought battle with cancer, Linda L. Hiles, 67, of Fairview, passed away peacefully at home, Monday evening, April 27, 2026, while in the company of her loving family. Linda departed this earth for her eternal resting place, where she was reunited with her parents and sister.

Linda was born in Butler on January 27, 1959. She was the daughter of the late Luther and Edith LeVier Bowser.

She attended Karns City Area High School. Linda was employed for several years at Sam’s Spot, later Sugarcreek Rest, and was a cook at Millerstown Inn, the Chicora Moose Lodge, and retired from the former Alan’s Roadhouse in Petrolia. She enjoyed attending her grandkids’ sporting events, taking buggy rides with her husband, and always looked forward to the company of family and friends. Her life revolved around the love she shared with her husband, children, and grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 50 years, David W. Hiles, whom she married in Chicora on September 15, 1979; her daughter, Angela Hiles (Justin Warner), a son, Justin Hiles, and his wife, Tonya. Linda was affectionately “Mama” to her grandkids, whom she adored Kyra (Dylan), Jamilyn, Ayriana, Remington Hiles, and Spencer Warner. Linda was looking forward to the birth of her first great-grandchild in August. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, friends, and neighbors.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Beryl, and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Gerald and Nancy Hiles.

Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home of Karns City, 128 Main St., Karns City, from 2-4 p.m. Thursday, April 30, 2026.  A funeral service will follow from the funeral home at 4 p.m. with the Rev. Dennis Barger, longtime family friend and pastor of the Scrubgrass Stone Church in Emlenton, officiating. The interment will be in Bear Creek Cemetery, Petrolia.

Please honor Linda at the visitation by wearing her favorite color, red.
