Carol Sue Stewart of Knox, PA died on January 19, 2023, at UPMC Northwest Hospital.
She was born January 14, 1963, in Meadville, PA to parents Harley Ardrey and Emily Howe Stewart.
She attended Titusville High School and worked at various jobs in Pennsylvania, mostly in oil fields.
Carol was a rugged lover of nature and would have a good laugh in the company of friends. She could strike up a lively conversation with anyone she met and never shied away from rolling up her sleeves to help, no matter how dirty the job, as long as she had her notorious ball cap on and her favorite beverage in hand. She will be long remembered for her tough exterior but she had a tender heart.
She is survived by two children, Shawn and Caitlyn Crusan, a stepdaughter, Bear Bernice Simpkins, two grandchildren, and one step-granddaughter, Brittany Hess. Also, surviving are two sisters, Joyce Sliter (Gary) and Anne Baker (Dale), and several nieces and a nephew. The family wishes to recognize her faithful friends: Donna Schreffler, Michael Bell, Roy Schreffler, all of Knox, Carol Phillips of Marienville, and Amy Shultz of Emlenton.
She was predeceased by her parents and four brothers, David, R. Bruce, Randy, and Gary Lee Stewart.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
