on West Sunbury Road.

For a small business, the ability to adapt and change can be crucial to its success. Since purchasing the Annandale Station located off of route 308 in Hilliards, PA in January of 2021, and Shawn Casper has stuck strong to his vision; “We want to be able to provide excellent customer service for a variety of products and services in a clean and friendly environment.” Over the last 2.5 years many changes have been made inside and out with many structural and cosmetic changes.

A smoothed paved parking lot was just completed this September which has added better access and provides for a better customer flow getting on and off the main road. The old fence has been replaced with a new white barn style which adds to the country theme. Over the past three years Casper has installed a new front door, a stamped concrete porch, updated gas pumps and island, diesel pump and digital signage.

If you haven’t been in the store for a while you will notice many changes. Casper has bolstered the product line since purchasing the business and offers a variety of items based on customer trends, likes and dislikes. Casper has added a “Grab and Go” cooler for hoagies, salads and refrigerated items and a freezer for convenient foods.

All the lighting throughout the store has been replaced with LED for better lighting and energy savings as well as replacement cooling systems for both freezers and air conditioning.

Casper and his friendly staff will be embarking on their third year anniversary this coming January. “We are always changing and adapting to meet our customer’s needs as shopping trends change with seasons, and most recently vendor availability issues.” For Casper one of the sues.” For Casper one of the biggest challenges has been the instability of the economy and availability issues. “We want to be able to find value items for our customers but in inflationary times it can be a challenge as operational costs continue to rise as well”.

Casper’s Annandale Station can fill about any appetite or convenient product you may be looking to purchase. The store offers a variety of items on its menu serving both breakfast and lunch items. Daily lunch specials are utilized as test items that may eventually end up on the regular menu. Staple items include breakfast sandwiches, pizza, hoagies etc. They have since added hash browns and breakfast burritos called Tornado’s. The kitchen and deli is open Monday thru Saturday until 7 pm. To go orders can be placed by calling 724-735-2535.

The store also offers the staple convenient store items, such as coffee, gas, lottery, propane and necessity items.

Future improvements will include fresh paint on the exterior of the building, replacement of the cedar shingles on the front of the store with vinyl siding and new signage along with future expansion to add on space for more grocery and special value items for customers. Casper’s Annandale station is located about 10 miles south of Interstate 80 at 2103 West Sunbury Road, Hilliards, PA.
