Charles Victor Myers
Charles Victor Myers, age 71, of Emlenton, passed away surrounded by his family on Wednesday, September 9, 2026.
Born in Butler on March 16, 1955, he was the third of six children to Roy and Miriam (Wiles) Myers.
A 1973 graduate of Clarion-Limestone High School, Chuck worked as a laborer for Colony Homes until his retirement.
Those who knew Chuck will remember his quiet demeanor. It was rare that he spoke more than a few words at a time. However, when he would share his thoughts, they were usually weighty, humorous, or a combination of both. This, along with his renowned listening skills, propelled him forward as a fast friend with anyone and everyone he met. Even hundreds of miles away from home, it was common that he would stop to chat with a long-lost acquaintance. His friends at Otto’s in Emlenton, the Clarion Eagles, and the Parker VFW will find the quiet corners a bit darker over the coming days and months.
For his community, he continued the tradition of his father by becoming a lifetime member of the Strattanville Volunteer Fire Company. Serving for more than 25 years, he dedicated countless hours to protecting the lives and property of his neighbors.
Chuck's interests were varied. He was an avid outdoorsman who spent countless nights beneath the tarp of a tent teaching his children not only how to survive in the deep woods of Pennsylvania, but also the sometimes-harsh realities of life. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and canoeing with his children. Chuck also spent many weekends reenacting his past life as a Union infantryman with the 66th Ohio Volunteer Infantry.
His adventures included many days spent at Cozy Rest camp in Wilcox. The memories he made there, catching crayfish, sneaking a few extras into the drive-in with his boat of a New Yorker, hazing his loved ones with the hypothermic waters at Bendigo, digging fishing hooks from noses, his tips for surviving without modern plumbing, and dangling his feet from the Kinzua Bridge are deeply cherished. Chuck’s culinary expertise with a pie iron, renowned frozen lasagnas, and signature pierogis earned him a place forever in our hearts and stomachs.
His 71 years of life were filled with joy, service, and at times hardship. He met the ups and downs of life with grace. Chuck’s values were always self-evident. He believed in supporting his community and that family was the centerpiece of his life.
Chuck leaves behind his four children, Chasity (Dave) Myers, Chris (Julie) Myers, Melanie (Adam) Hockman, and Nicholas (Amy) Rawson; his fifteen grandchildren; two sisters, Carole (Dale) Monrean and Lori (John) Wagner; his brother Lonnie (Margaret) Myers, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Over the past few years, he could be found running a circuit from his home in Emlenton to visit with as many of his children as possible. At times, he exerted so much energy on these Sunday drives that he would spend as much time napping as he would traveling.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Donna Myers and Kelly Horner; a brother-in-law, Donald Songer; and his nephew, Dustin Songer.
Family and friends will be received from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, September 14, 2026, at Robert V. Burns Funeral Home, 638 Wood Street, Clarion, PA 16214. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. in the funeral home on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, officiated by Rev. Tom Young. The interment will follow at the Cedarview Memorial Park in Strattanville.
