Dennis D. “Denny” Fierst, 74, of Emlenton, passed away June 2, 2023, at Clarion Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Dennis was born in Grove City on May 29, 1949. He was the son of the late Charles and Janet Vogel Fierst.
Denny was a 1967 graduate of Allegheny-Clarion Valley High School. He was of the Catholic faith. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in the Vietnam War.
He was employed as a truck driver and heavy equipment operator. Denny enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and lottery scratch-off cards. He was a frequent patron at The Plaza in Emlenton, where he was well-known for joking and teasing the waitresses.
Surviving are his siblings, Walter Fierst of Grove City, Joyce Graham and her husband, Robert, of Polk, Gayle Fierst and her wife, Rita Martin, of Mercer, Anita O’Brien and her husband, Dennis, of Columbia, Glenn Fierst and his wife, Jodi, of Mayport, Joan Cornelius and her husband, Richard, of Emlenton, Judy Moon and her husband, Raymond, of New Castle, and Lynn Pratt of Rhode Island, and his aunt, Lillian Jeffries of Grove City. Dennis was the “favorite uncle” to his nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and nephews. He is also survived by a number of cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Lawrence and Terrance Fierst, and a nephew.
Private funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Hile Funeral Home Inc., Emlenton.
