Donald Lee LeFevre, Sr.

Donald Lee LeFevre, Sr., 82, of Karns City, went to be with the Lord Friday afternoon, June 26, 2026, at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Donald was born in Butler on August 22, 1943. He was the son of the late Joseph and Sarah “Freda” Sandrock LeFevre.

He was a 1962 graduate of Butler High School. In his earlier years, he had been employed as a machinist at Pullman Standard until its closing, and he retired following many years of service as a custodian at the Butler Vo-Tech school. 

Don was of the Baptist faith. He had been a long time deacon at the former Baptist Temple in Butler. Among his favorite scriptures was the gospel of John 3:3, 3:7, and 3:16. He was a born-again Christian. He loved his Lord and Savior with all his heart. He was a member of the 700 Club, Jimmy Swaggart Ministries, John Hagee Ministry, Samaritan’s Purse, and the International Fellowship Christians and Jews.

Don was a talented musician. In his earlier years, he and his brothers had a band, “The Chordaires”, where they performed at weddings and dances. Don was a “homebody” and enjoyed his property and wildlife. He took in many homeless pets and loved the outdoors. He had a strong work ethic and was always busy. Don was a wonderful husband, father, and a doting grandfather. The family is consoled knowing Don is rejoicing with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, but will be greatly missed.

Don is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 63 years, Darlene M. Weitzel LeFevre. The couple was married in Butler on June 22, 1963. Also surviving are four children, Joseph LeFevre, Don LeFevre, James Dean LeFevre, and Lisa Marie LeFevre Kulin and her husband, Alex Kulin IV, all of Butler. He was affectionately “Pap Pap” to five grandchildren, Alex Kulin V, Bryce Kulin, both of Butler, Janae Kulin Depew and her husband, Nicky, of Elizabethton, TN, and Kylee Marie Kulin and Dean James LeFevre, both of Butler. Don was looking forward to the birth of his first great-grandchild soon. Also surviving is a brother, John E. LeFevre, a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Donna and Kenny Phipps of Harrisville and a brother-in-law, Terry Weitzel of East Brady, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, a sister, and a step brother.

Don’s most important questions to those he met were, “Do you know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior? Are you ready for eternity?”

Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home of Karns City, 128 Main St., Karns City, from 2-4 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, 2026. A funeral service will follow from the funeral home at 4 p.m. with the Rev. Tim Boden, pastor of Homeacre Chapel, officiating. The interment will be Rose Hill Cemetery, Butler.
