The Emlenton Truck Plaza held a Driver Appreciation Day on Tuesday, Sept. 17th, outdoors, in front of the fuel desk. Truck drivers and patrons were treated to pulled pork sandwiches, hot dogs, baked beans, cole slaw, and dessert.

Patrons were also given tickets for a chance to win Chinese auction items. There were also other prizes and treats for the road. Drivers also had a chance to participate in a Cornhole competition and other games.

A side competition was held by Rex Michael and Carol Burns. Truck drivers got to vote for the best-tasting baked beans. No prize for the winner, just bragging rights. Sorry, Rex, but Ms. Carol had the best-tasting beans!!

Adding to the atmosphere was the Donnie Clark Band, which plays Country and Gospel music.
