Edward J. “Eddie” Reckner, 63, of Buena Vista Rd., Chicora, went to be with the Lord Saturday afternoon, January 13, 2024 at his residence.
Edward was born at Ft. Gordon, Ga on May 16, 1960. He was the son of the late Rev. Edward T. and B. Louise Thomas Reckner.
He attended school in Hephzibah, GA and was in ROTC. Eddie worked for many years as a lube tech for Jiffy Lube. He enjoyed talking with people, working on cars, helping others, country and gospel music, and in his earlier years, fishing.
Surviving is his wife, Theresa F. Falci Reckner, whom he married on August 14, 2010 at the First Church of the Nazarene in Butler. Also surviving are two sons, James F. “Jimmy” Reckner of Warrensville, SC and Edward James “EJ” Shipley of Augusta, GA, as well as a number of grandchildren; a brother, Orville W. “Bud” Reckner and his wife, Jennie, of Karns City; two sisters, Brenda Lee Guillet and her husband, Patrick Guillet, MSGT, ret., of Copperas Cove, TX, and Helen R. Berry and her husband, Roger, of Chicora; as well as a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Friends will be received from 3-6 p.m. Thursday, January 18, 2024, at the First Church of the Nazarene, 4410 Oakdale Rd., Butler. A funeral service will follow from the church at 6 p.m. with the Rev. Ronald Reagle, a Nazarene pastor and family friend, officiating. The interment will be at Johnson Chapel Cemetery in Confluence.
