Esther E. Burdett, 88, of Boyers, went to be with the Lord Tuesday afternoon, November 18, 2025, at Back to Basics Care Home in Dayton, PA.
Esther was born in Kittanning on January 16, 1937. She was the daughter of the late Owen R. and Isabelle M. Burns Bowser.
She was a 1954 graduate of Kittanning High School. Esther was a devoted pastor’s wife lovingly supporting her husband as the couple served the Lord together for many years. She enjoyed crocheting, puzzles and looked forward to the company of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was well known for her delicious cooking. Esther was a longtime member of the Fertigs Church of God of Prophecy.
On Tuesday Afternoon, Esther surely heard the words of Jesus, “Well done thou good and faithful servant.”
Mrs. Burdett was preceded in death by her husband, Bishop Robert L. “Bob” Burdett, on June 4, 2019. The couple was married on June 20, 1957, in Laughlintown, Westmoreland County.
She is survived by her daughters, Sandra L. Glass and her husband, Paul, of Knox and Rhonda L. Gifford and her husband, Larry, of Boyers; two grandsons, Aaron E. Glass and his wife, Kimberly, of Knox and Justin A. Gifford and his wife, Ashley, of Parker; two great grandchildren, Riley and Brayden; a brother and sister-in-law, Owen and Lydia Bowser of Kittanning, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Friends will be received from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at the Hile Funeral Home of Karns City, 128 Main St., Karns City and at the Karns City Church of God of Prophecy, 1015 Kittanning Pike, Karns City, from 10-11 a.m. on Wednesday. A funeral service will follow from the church at 11 a.m. with Bishop Alan Ion, church pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
