First Responders Open House & Recruitment

Callensburg, Shippenville and Knox Fire

Come join Callensburg, Shippenville and Knox Fire personnel on May 31, 2026 from 1 pm to 4 pm at the Knox Volunteer Fire Company for an Open House. This a free event.

The Open House will display various parts of different gear, tools, and OF COURSE FIRE TRUCKS. We will also have friends from within the First Responder Community joining us for this event and will have some light refreshments to get you through between your lunch and dinner time meals.

Also on display will be a few live demonstrations of some of the things we do to display our knowledge and some of how we train to stay in top form for every emergency that comes our way.

There will be having 3 live demonstrations with the following schedule:

1:00 pm Open House Start

1:30 pm Traffic Cone Lay Up with an explanation of layout and some of the equipment used by our Fire Police Units.

2:30 pm Water Demo showing off various hose and nozzle types we use as well as how pumping works on a Fire Truck!

3:30 pm Search and Rescue Demo to show you the basics of our training tools and how we practice for operations inside a burning building when someone is trapped inside.

The open house will conclude at 4 pm.
