Francis “Frank” S. Malek, Jr., 81, of Oil City, died peacefully at home, with his wife Roxann by his side, Monday, April 13, 2026.
Born April 12, 1945, in Detroit, MI, he was the son of the late Frank S. Malek, Sr., and Ezzetta R. Groth Malek. In the late 1940s, the family relocated back to Oil City due to family illness.
Frank attended Assumption B.V.M. grade school, St. Joseph High School for three years, and was a member of the first graduating class from Venango Christian High School in 1963. He attended the College of Steubenville in Ohio.
Mr. Malek was a machinist for 25 years prior to taking over the operations and ownership of the family business, Precision Tool and Die Mfg. Co., Inc. in Oil City. He retired in 2005 after 41 years with the company.
He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, and traveling. He had a special love for the Florida Keys and Key West, Florida.
Mr. Malek was a life member of the NRA and IBO (International Bow Hunting), and a member of Safari Club International, NWTF (National Wild Turkey Federation), Ducks Unlimited, Trout Unlimited, and was a social member of the Franklin VFW.
Frank volunteered for military service during Vietnam, but could not serve due to his eyesight. He loved the United States of America and was proud of our flag and those who were able to serve.
Mr. Malek was of the Catholic faith.
On July 19, 2014, he was married to the former Roxann Yori, who survives.
Surviving are a daughter, Maria McFadden and her husband Bob; two sons, Frank Malek, III and his wife Kelly, and Sam Malek and his wife Tina; and six grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Tanner, Zach, Connor, Sam, and Anthony.
Also surviving are a stepson, Brad Yori, and his wife, Sarah; and their children, Noah, Harper, and Ira Yori.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Stanley Malek; and a sister, Kathryn Raub.
There will be no viewing or visitation.
A memorial service will be held on May 16, 2026, at 2 pm at the Baker Street Church of God in Rimersburg.
The inurnment will be in Sligo Cemetery.
Memorials in Frank’s name can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the Wounded Warriors Project, or the NRA.
