Georgia A. Yough, 54, of Chicora, went to be with the Lord early Wednesday morning, August 6, 2025, passing away of natural causes at her home.

Georgia was born in Butler on February 21, 1971. She was the daughter of Wesley W. “Mike” Gibson and Linda L. Fennell Gibson Duespohl.

She was a 1989 graduate of Karns City Area High School and graduated from the Bradford Business School in Pittsburgh. Georgia was employed by the Karns City Area School District as a secretary to the athletic director and the maintenance superintendent. She was a long time active member of the Chicora Alliance Church, served on the church’s governing board, and was the church’s audio and Facebook live technician.

A woman of unwavering faith, Georgie lived her life as a reflection of her deep love for God and others. She was known for her kind heart, generous spirit and steadfast devotion to her family and church community. Georgie’s faith was not just a part of her life—it was the foundation of everything she did.

Georgia is survived by her husband, Matthew T. “Cork” Yough, whom she married at the Chicora United Methodist Church on September 18, 1993.

Also surviving are her parents and step parents, Linda and Donald Duespohl of Chicora and Wesley W. “Mike” and Dawn Gibson of Petrolia; two sons, Matthew G. Yough and his fiancée, Olivia DeBacco of Oakmont and Tyler R. Yough and his wife, Haeden of Danville; two sisters, Marcy Ealy and her husband, Tim and Pamela Duespohl and her husband, Dennis, all of Chicora; a step brother, Douglas Duespohl and his wife, Tammy of Beaver Falls; her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Vicki Roome and Stan Endlich of Ashville, NC, Ginger and Chuck Roupe of The Villages, FL, as well as a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Eugene and Harriet Yough, a brother-in-law, Rodney Yough, her maternal and paternal grandparents, and a number of aunts and uncles.

Friends were received at the Hile Funeral Home of Chicora, 339 Chicora Fenelton Rd., Chicora, PA . A funeral service was held from the Chicora Alliance Church, 310 E. Slippery Rock St., Chicora, with the Rev. Mark Wallace, church pastor, officiating. Interment was in Hemphill Cemetery, Chicora.
