Ice on the Allegheny River in Emlenton Has Moved Out

At 9:15 PM, Friday, February 20, 2026, the ice jam on the Allegheny River at Emlenton broke and rapidly moved downstream through Foxburg and Parker. Additional ice from up river was flowing through Emlenton from as well. This movement was accompanied by a rapid drop and gradual rise of water levels on the river. Personnel from Emlenton and Parker fire departments continued to monitor and provided updates to the community.
The Emlenton Volunteer Fireman have reported at 10:45 PM 2/20/2026, that the water levels were still elevated, but have dropped significantly. Barricades in the borough have been removed and the volunteers that were staffing the fire station have been released.
