In Memory of
James A. Bartley
who passed away
5 years ago, June 11, 2021

The garage door stays closed almost everyday, your welder sits silent and rusting away.
Your chair and your bucket sit empty of you, your tools and your chainsaws have gone quiet too.
George Jones hasn’t played out back in awhile, you aren’t there to give a ‘thumbs up and smile”.
No screws, bolts and washer in the house everywhere, telling us clearly you’re no longer there.
Your pups are dogs now and missing you too, they still haven’t stopped searching for you.
You don’t steal the cookies and pie when we bake, sometimes everyday things can be hard to take.
There’s no smell of coffee or singing a tune, now there is always sadness in these months of June.
Holidays now are all just the same, light a candle for you and cry at the flame.
Three chairs on our porch, only two of them used, yours always empty, leaving us bruised.
In the cemetery now a stone bears your name, here at the house, it’s never the same.
Five years have passed, we’re doing okay, but don’t think we don’t miss you every day.
Love you always,
Daughter Denise,
“Two Puppies” Roy and Taz
