Julie Anne Catherine Hughes (Krug), born October 9, 1953, in Oil City, Pennsylvania, crossed back over into the cosmic energy of the universe to be with those who came before on Saturday, April 25, 2026, a little after 3:00 p.m., surrounded by those she loved.

Julie was a woman of quiet strength, deep love, and enduring presence. She carried a resilience that shaped not only her life, but the lives of those around her. Her compassion, honesty, and unwavering devotion to her family defined who she was. To know her was to feel seen, to feel cared for, and to understand the true meaning of unconditional love.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jackson and Elizabeth Krug (Hennessy); her brother, Jack Krug; her sister, Judith Blakely; and her long-time love, Michael Jacoby.

Remaining to carry on her legacy are her sons, Ryan Jacoby and Robert Hughes, and his wife Sheila; her brother James Krug; and her grandchildren, Adam Hughes and Andrew Hines. She enjoyed spending time with all her family, especially her cousins Pam and Joan.

Julie’s legacy is not measured in years, but in the love she gave, the strength she showed, and the imprint she left on the hearts of others. That legacy will continue to live on through her family and all who carry her memory forward.

Friends and family are invited for a visitation on Friday, May 1, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Morrison Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Petroleum St., Oil City, PA 16301. A memorial service for Julie will be held at a later date at the convenience of her family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Julie’s memory to a local Alcoholics Anonymous support group.
