Perry M. McCluskey

Perry M. McCluskey, 63, of East Brady passed away on October 23, 2023, at Allegheny General Hospital after a courageous battle with ALS.

Born on March 26, 1960, in East Brady, he was the son of James V. and Teresa M. (McLaughlin) McCluskey.

He was a 1978 graduate of East Brady High School and Indiana University of PA where he earned a B.S. in Hotel and Hospitality Management in 1982. Perry also participated in the Walt Disney World College Internship Program where he met many of his lifelong friends.

His passion for cooking, entertaining, and hospitality was fulfilled in his careers at the Hilton at Walt Disney World Village, Isleworth Country Club, and the Park Bench in Mt. Dora, Florida.

Perry was a truly special person who was loved by everyone he met. Nothing made him happier than to make people smile and laugh with his witty sense of humor and ability to make a mundane day seem like a holiday by being in his presence. Perry’s joy was always found while boating on the Butler chain of lakes in Orlando, Florida, and the Allegheny River in East Brady, PA.

He will be greatly missed by his large circle of loving friends, many of whom cared for him after his ALS diagnosis in January of 2023. A special thanks to his dear friend Lisa Danbury of Kansas City, MO who worked tirelessly to provide loving care as his illness progressed, along with Karen Crosby-DiCenzo of Andover, MA, Jill Cunningham of Erie, PA, Chip Gryzbek of Orlando, FL, and Dr. Kraig LeRud of Orlando, FL.

He is survived by his nephews Lucas J. and wife Keisha McCluskey, Corey M. McCluskey, sister-in-law Joy S. McCluskey of East Brady, and aunt Rozella Groves.

He was preceded in death by his father James V., mother Teresa, and brother James.

All services for Perry McCluskey will be private.

Arrangements are under the direction of Buechele Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., East Brady.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Perry’s name to the East Brady Volunteer Fire Department 701 Graham Street, East Brady, PA 16028, or The ALS Foundation of Western Pennsylvania, 416 Lincoln Avenue, Millvale, PA 15209.
