Ralph B. Steiner, 83, of Chicora, went to be with the Lord late Monday afternoon, March 20, 2023, at Butler Memorial Hospital while surrounded by his loving family.
Ralph was born in Rattigan, Donegal Twp. on May 27, 1939. He was the son of the late Francis and Marie Rodgers Steiner.
He was a 1957 graduate of Karns City High School and retired from Walsh Equipment in Butler following 39 years of service. Ralph had been a long-time member of Mater Dolorosa Roman Catholic Church in Chicora. He was a member of The Happy Hunters Club and Chicora Moose Lodge.
Ralph enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, farming, and traveling with his wife. Ralph and Jerry had visited all 50 states and several countries in Europe.
Surviving is his wife, Phyllis “Jerry” Morrison Steiner, whom he married at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Sugarcreek Twp., on September 23, 1961. Also surviving are four children, Penny Mourer and her husband, Gary, Michael Steiner and his wife, Kim, Matthew Steiner and his wife, Lisa, and Jill Ealy and her husband, Dan, all of Chicora; Ralph was affectionately “Pappy” to his ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, whom he adored, Taylor Olszak and her husband, Evan, Tatum Callender and her husband, Josh, Jeremiah Mourer, Penny Marshall and her husband, Craig, Meredith Steiner, Hanna Steiner, Natalie Bandura and her husband, Brady, Nathan Ealy and his wife, Paige, Ben Ealy and his wife, Katelyn, and Camden Ealy; eight great grandchildren, Ella, Lucia, Payton, Peter, Bria, Austen, Rupert, and Clementine; one brother, Robert “Bob” Steiner and his wife, Linda, of Chicora; three sisters, Agnes Gray of East Brady, Donna Sheakley of Karns City, and Diana Rumbaugh and her husband, Bernard, of Chicora; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Connie and Floyd Olczak of Natrona Heights, Patty and Paul Olean of Freeport, Barbara Morrison of Kittanning, and Margaret Steiner of Chicora, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Eugene, and Donald Steiner; two sisters, Louise Crawford, and Rosemary Young, as well as a number of brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home of Chicora, 339 Chicora Fenelton Rd., Chicora, from 2-6 p.m. Thursday. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday from Mater Dolorosa Roman Catholic Church, St. Clare of Assisi Parish, Chicora, with the Rev. Louis Pascazi, Parochial Vicar, officiating. Interment will be in St. Patrick Cemetery, Sugarcreek Twp., Armstrong Co.
