Ralph "Sonny" I. Mong Jr., passed away at his home after a brief illness on June 30, 2025.
Born in Grove City, Pa, he was the son of Ralph I. Mong Sr., and Ruth Gearhart Mong.
Sonny was a truck driver for most of his life and also turned some wrenches. Sonny loved riding motorcycles, especially his bike, "Tubby. " He enjoyed hunting, especially taking youth and teaching them how to hunt, and loved taking care of and enjoying his herbal garden and riding his side by side. He was the type of person who would help anyone in need and was always just a phone call away. A legend in his own way, he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his son, Ryan Mong, of Harrisville. His sister Gaylene (Brian) Hilliard of Emlenton, and his brother, Raymond "Dick" Mong of Petrolia. His sister in-law, Jen Kershbaumer, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Cindy Mong, his sister, Sharon Lowers, brother in-law, Ed Lowers, and sister in-law Paige Mong.
A Private family service will be held at the funeral home. A celebration of life will be held on August 23, 2025, at his son's, Ryan's, home, starting at 3 pm.
