Robert L. Ealy

Robert L. Ealy, 58, of Dunbar, formerly of Butler, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes Thursday, January 20, 2022, in Dunbar.

Robert was born in Butler on March 3, 1963. He was the son of Lora Jean Brophy Ealy of Butler and the late Oscar William Ealy.

Rob was of the protestant faith.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his sister, Joyce A. Denton and her husband, Herb, of Butler; his niece, Rochelle and her fiancé, Hakeem Dent; his stepbrothers and sisters, Kathy Hilliard and her husband, Joe, of Chicora, Jack Claypoole and his wife, Crystal, of Butler, Daryl “Boldy” Claypoole and his wife, Bonnie, of Butler, and Diana “Gidget” Everetts of Butler, as well as a number of other nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Judy Ealy, his stepfather, Charles Claypoole, and his step-siblings, Rachel Claypoole Rhinebolt, Charles Claypoole Jr., and Mickey Blystone.

Visitation was held at the Hile Funeral Home of Karns City, 128 Main St., Karns City, on Thursday, January 27, 2022. A funeral service was held from the funeral home at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, with the Rev. Floyd Barnhart, a United Methodist pastor, officiating. Interment followed at Bear Creek Cemetery, Petrolia.
