“Emergency, Emergency!!! Call 911 — we need an ambulance NOW!” These are words that we never want to hear or shout out, but we all know that accidents, illnesses, and emergencies happen. Thank heavens we in the Allegheny-Clarion Valley and surrounding areas have the Emlenton Area Ambulance Service housed in Emlenton and staffed 24/7. The Emlenton Area Ambulance Service provides emergency medical care to portions of Armstrong, Butler, Clarion, and Venango Counties. In the past, emergency ambulance services have been provided through the selûess efforts of local volunteers. Unfortunately, fewer and fewer people are available to give of their time so freely. As a result, the ambulance service is now staffed with paid professionals around-the-clock. It is becoming harder and harder to secure the ûnances to keep the Ambulance Service ûnancially solvent and staff that meet the rigorous local and state: mandated training standards. It is vitally important to keep the Emlenton Area Ambulance Service operational. We do not want our ambulance to close its doors like some others in our area.
Come to the Scrubgrass Grange on Tuesday, August 22nd, 7:00 pm, to learn more about our Emlenton Area Ambulance Service and what their future looks like. Come learn how we, as local citizens, can support their work.
Presenting the program are members of the Emlenton Area Ambulance governing body, Trevor Hile, spokesperson and Rick King, Treasurer. Scrubgrass Grange is sponsoring this event as part of our Talking Tuesday Programs on topics of local interest. The programs are open to the public and free of charge. The September program topic will be about connecting food consumers to local food producers. Scrubgrass Grange is located at 5104 Emlenton-Clintonville Rd., Emlenton, PA 16373.
We hope you come join us on Tuesday, August 22, 7:00 P.M., to learn how we can keep the Emlenton Area Ambulance Service a vital part of our community.
