Sharon Rose Anderson


Sharon Rose Anderson, 62, of Hooker Rd., Karns City, Concord Twp. passed away Friday afternoon at the Chicora Medical Center.

Sharon was born in Butler on February 8, 1961. She was the daughter of Shirley Ann Frye Anderson of Karns City and the late Clarence Alton Anderson.

She attended Moniteau Schools and was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Chicora. Sharon enjoyed camping, hunting, mowing grass, farming, raising chickens and geese, and helping her neighbors. Sharon was a dedicated employee of the Allegheny Valley School in Boyers, where she was instrumental in working with the school’s residents to establish a sheep and turkey farm, which financially benefited the school and enabled the residents to take various outings and trips.

In addition to her mother, Sharon is survived by two brothers, Paul Anderson and his wife, Diane, of Karns City and Ronald Anderson and his wife, Cheryl, of Petrolia; two sisters, Barbara Michael and her husband, Dennis of Petrolia and Brenda Schrecengost and her husband, James, of Chicora; two sisters-in-law, Darcy Anderson and Sherry Anderson of Chicora; her caretaker and longtime friend, Karen Hockenberry of Chicora, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by two brothers, James and Michael Anderson.

Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home of Karns City, 128 Main St., Karns City, from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, October 3, 2023. A funeral service will be held from the funeral home at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 4, 2023, with the Rev. Floyd Barnhart, a United Methodist pastor, officiating. The interment will be in Concord Cemetery, Concord Twp., Butler Co.
