The Hardware Man: Customer Appreciation Day
Howdy Folks,
It’s been a busy couple weeks here at the store since we announced our Customer Appreciation Day for this Friday, October 23, 11 am – 6 pm. Nothing like having company to get you all motivated to clean up around the house and get a project done. Women know it’s a sure way to get their husbands off the couch. Just let them know their friends are coming for dinner.
We are having a Friday party, unlike our first year when we had it on a Saturday. But a few things have changed since our Open House / Grand Opening celebration in April 2025. While it’s later in the season, we really wanted to celebrate a successful summer and tell you all Thank You for being a customer.
Last year, we hardly knew ya. I was busy making introductions, kissing hands and shaking babies while hardly getting to experience the fun of the day. That’s ok, because we love being hosts. Now, we feel very welcome and at home in Clintonville and have gotten to know a good number of regulars. Our product mix has changed to match our customer base. We’ve reduced old product and added some new categories, made some big changes in the store and have plans for more.
Like most long-term projects, it’s good to take a moment to reflect and celebrate the wins. And we want to share them with our community. Here’s a few teasers.
Our vendors were great. Many have donated products for door prizes, so we will be showcasing items from SpecOps Tools, Midwest Fastener, Frostop Soda, Frank Roberts and our primary wholesaler, House Hasson Hardware. We have several new sets of brands with special deals for the day, including Milwaukee Tools, Dewalt Tools and Channellock as well as Tri-Link chain-saw products, Danco Plumbing and Rustoleum Paint.
Our current customers are why we can do an appreciation day. Their regular business with us keeps the lights on and the bills paid. Doing a Friday lunch and afternoon event hopefully will give you a chance to cut out of work early and stop by for a bite of Chili, hot dogs or sweets. We will be handing out 100 T-shirts and will gladly trade one for your brand to promote in our # WearYourFriendsToWork social media campaign.
As always, we want to grow our customer base, so our invitation extends to those who haven’t been to the store to stop by, see what we have and start becoming a regular. We have a solid base of homeowner and contractor necessities, from plumbing, electrical and tools. Many have mentioned how surprised they were at what all we carry. So come see for yourself. The day wouldn’t be successful without a great crew. Thankfully, our boys are off school, so they’ll be helping Friday, but our regular staff, from Ed, Dave, Sam and Caleb are the real stars. They are the faces you see day in and out, and you still come back. And the big boss, my wife, has been baking all week and will be serving up all the goodies.
A community is made with relationships, and we are thankful for each one we have made. Our local fire departments have found a friend in Clintonville Hardware and, while this is a free event, we will be supporting them by accepting donations for the food, drink or extras.
So, stop by and say hi. We will treat you so many ways, you’ll be bound to like one of them.
