Tommy G. Hartzell

Tommy “Tom” G. Hartzell, 70, of Butler, passed away on Monday, September 7, 2026.
He was born in Pittsburgh on May 5, 1956, to the late Robert and Earlene (Weaver) Hartzell.
Tom graduated from Seneca Valley High School in 1974. He worked at Doyle Equipment and Power Up as a diesel mechanic; his specialties were skid loaders and cranes.
Tom was a member of the Hungarian club and the Magnetics Bowling League. He enjoyed woodworking, cross stitching, 5D painting, cooking, and baking. He was known for being a jack of all trades; he also won a lot of ribbons and trophies in woodworking, cross-stitch, and bowling. Tom was a Christian and Protestant by faith.
Tom was the beloved husband of Holly (Dodd) Hartzell, whom he married on April 19, 2002; father of Beth (Reggie) Hageman, Kristen Hageman, Donald Hartzell and Tyler Hartzell; brother of Linda (John) Schlichtkrull and Robin (Tim) Rausch; brother-in-law of R. Eric (Linda) Dodd; grandfather of Olivia Hageman and Kiara Isaac; great grandfather of Ariyah Isaac; Tom is also survived by his aunt and uncle, Bob and Jan Weaver; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and his two yorkies, Buddy and Gracie.
Along with his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his infant son; brother, Dennis Hartzell; in-laws, Bob and Lu Dodd; brother-in-law, Scott Dodd, and his yorkie, Bear.
Family and friends will be received on Sunday, September 13, 2026, from 12-2 PM at SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 NEW CASTLE RD. BUTLER, PA 16001. WWW.SPENCERDGEIBEL.COM. A prayer service will immediately follow in the funeral home. Burial will be held privately. The family requests that everyone attending, to please dress casually.
